HRO believes that all children must enjoy well-being, rights, and development, and safety within their communities.  HRO works with families, caregivers, and communities to promote positive social norms and behaviours to help to prevent violence against children, to create permanent change for children in every community, city, and country. HRO CP Programme works on ensuring safety for children, calling out violence when it occurs, and working with survivors to heal and recover. HRO adopts a family-based approach in child protection, recognizing that violence at home must be addressed at the family level.

HRO aims to realise the CP Programme through:

  • Ensuring response through case management of children at risk of being harmed or who have been harmed, UASC, dropped out, etc. to prevent, respond, and eliminate cases of violence, abuse, or exploitation of children in all settings.

  • Acting in a prevention manner by providing CP services and expanding the reach and quality of CP programmes in NWS through Child-Friendly Spaces, outreach visits, focused specialized and non-specialized. Children with safe and supportive mentors tend to be more resilient to threats, survival, and development.

  • Integrating Child Protection in Education, aiming to guarantee to children and adolescents living in conflict and crisis setting, above all, a safe, caring, and predictable environment where they learn, grow up, express themselves and do well socially and emotionally being them protected from violence and abuse.
